All students need supports, but special education students have required needs you as a teacher need to be aware of and ready to support. Being familiar with special education will empower you to support your students so they have the best opportunities.
What am I going to get from this course?
The goals of the course is to become familiar with special education, and specifically how it pertains to CTE. Focus is on the terminology, process, laws, and the role you as the CTE teacher can play in creating a positive impact for special education students. By having a foundational knowledge you will be better equipped to assist and support others.
